In his latest essay, Hugo Salinas Price, president of the Mexican Civic Association for Silver and a longtime GATA supporter, elaborates on a theme he has been pressing for many years: that a gold standard is vital for local production and that a world financial system in which one country alone issues the world reserve currency destroys and dislocates industry. Salinas Price's essay is the clearest and most important sort of macro-economics and implies the moral underpinnings of GATA's work.
